\nLuke Petherbridge, head of public affairs at Abta, said the industry needed to make sure planning for a hard Brexit \u201cremains to the fore\u201d in the current political environment. \u201cNo-deal is not dormant, it\u2019s having a nap \u2013 it will come back in October,\u201d warned Petherbridge, during a session on Brexit at Abta\u2019s annual Travel Law Seminar in London.\u00a0Link<\/a><\/p>\n
\nHer Brexit plans failed again and again to impress squabbling MPs in parliament, but she soldiered on regardless. Until now. In an emotional statement outside her office in Downing St, Mrs May finally announced she was stepping down as prime minister. She will quit as Conservative party leader on 7 June but will stay in office until a successor is found. Mrs May – who became the UK’s second female prime minister in July 2016 – had been under sustained pressure from lawmakers opposed to her Brexit plans.\u00a0Link<\/a><\/p>\n
\nThe short answer is that both No Deal and No Brexit are now both more likely.\u00a0Link<\/a><\/p>\n\n
\nCharges of up to \u00a315 for passenger cars and private hire vehicles are to be imposed by\u00a0Heathrow. The London hub is preparing \u201ctough new measures\u201d to protect local air quality,\u00a0reduce congestion and tackle emissions.\u00a0Link<\/a><\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Shares in Thomas Cook were up a modest two per cent this morning after the struggling travel giant confirmed it had received a \u201chighly preliminary and unsolicited indicative offer\u201d from Triton Partners for its northern Europe business. Private equity firm Triton Partners is believed to have submitted a bit for the company\u2019s tour operator and airline in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark.Link<\/a><\/p>\n
