For TUI’s boss, Thomas Cook couldn’t stand out

In the Financial Times, the CEO of TUI Group believes that Thomas Cook’s bankruptcy should encourage tourism operators to question their business model. Faced with the digital giants of travel, Friedrich Joussen is therefore betting on the personalization of the offer. Indeed, TUI guests can personalize their simple stay by choosing the location of the room, its proximity to the hotel’s various points of interest (restaurants, swimming pools,…) or choose their accommodation according to its potential sunlight. All this, of course, for an extra charge per night. For the time being, TUI, like other tourism operators, is picking up market share from the former parts of the Thomas Cook group. Recently, the German tour operator took over 2 million seats in the United Kingdom, and 135 hotels previously sold by Thomas Cook. Echo Touristique
