I am planning to be away in Europe From 25th October to 4th November 2019, i.e. over Brexit. I am completely confused about passport validity, and if I need to renew I am running out of time. My passport was issued 10 January 2010 and expires on 10 October 2020. The government’s online passport checker says that it is not valid for travel. But looking on another government website, it says I only need six months left. Link

Research released today by tourism trade association Ukinbound and Canterbury Christ Church University shows that the government’s proposed post-Brexit immigration reforms have the potential to severely destabilise the tourism industry in the UK, putting at risk any industry that contributes GDP 145 billion (7.2% of UK GDP) to the UK economy.
