- Pobeda airlines took off its flights to Antalya from Perm
Pobeda airlines canceled direct flights from Perm to Antalya this season stating internal problems.
The passengers who already bought or booked Pobeda flights will be reimbursed by the airline.
- 27 companies were excluded from the register list of the tour operators
Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation excluded 27 companies from the TO register.
A decision was announced on the website of The Federal Agency on May 20, 2019. The incorrect financial statements of the tour operators may be the reason behind the decision.
In total Rostourism excluded 40 tour operators from the TO list this month.
- A new OTA player in the Russian market
Tinkoff* has launched its own online travel agency.
According to Tinkoff spokesperson Russian tourists will be able to book flights and trains as well as tours, hotels and rental cars using Tinkoff online booking system.
*Tinkoff Bank is a commercial bank entirely focused on the e-services.
- 311 Russian tourists got stuck in Hainan and had problems with return flights to Moscow
Russian tourists got stuck in Hainan, China due to aircraft problems. 311 clients of TEZ TOUR were supposed to return to Moscow with S7 airlines on May 22, 2019,
but its engineering service detected a malfunction of the aircraft during the preparation for the flight. S7 airlines decided to delay the flight until the problem is resolved.
As a result tourists stayed in China two more days.
All passengers returned to Moscow on May 24.
- Egypt Tours fell in price
Pegas Touristik* prices for Egypt were discounted by 50% due to insufficient demand for tours using Turkish airlines connecting flights.
*Pegas Touristik is one of the largest Russian tour operators.
- Vietnam and Russia signed a tourism cooperation document
The Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy and Mrs. Doguzova, the Chairman of Rosturism, The Federal Agency for Tourism in Russia, signed the Memorandum of Understanding. The document will be valid from May 20, 2019 to May 20, 2024. The document provides for further growth of bilateral ties in the tourism sphere, providing development of inbound and outbound tourism for both countries, joint promotion of tourism products, information exchange and participation of tourism organizations of both countries in the international exhibitions and events in Russia and Vietnam.
