Where will the Francilians go on holiday this summer?

The World Tourism Fair, which is being held from 14 to 17 March 2019 at Paris Expo, has carried out a study with its public to find out their destinations and selection criteria, their means of transport and their budget. 69% of Ile-de-France residents will favour foreign countries (vs. 70% in 2018). Still in the lead, however, Europe (28%) is falling back in initial intentions compared to 2018 (37%). While Greece, Spain and Italy share the lead group, as in 2018, their percentage has declined since 2018. On the other hand, Croatia is leaping from 9% in 2018 to 19% in 2019. Quotidien du Tourisme


E-tourism: 60% of visits come from search engines

The digital world is becoming more and more complex, but there are a few small automatisms to possess to appear on the web. A new study has just confirmed the importance, if there is a need, of natural referencing. The marketing research agency Vision on Sights, which works with 140 tourist offices and the main travel agencies, reveals that most site visits come from search engines (60%). This shows well the interest of working on natural referencing, to appear in the first lines of Google. TourMag


Airbnb recruits an air ace and embarks on tour-operating

In addition to accommodation, Airbnb is also developing its range of activities and transport. In order to achieve this objective, the accommodation booking platform has just hired Fred Reid as director of the transport division. Its mission is to develop new transport partnerships. Destination marketing: are we dream or reality merchants?

A record number of tourists in Spain Except in the Canary Islands

In 2018, Spain recorded its highest number of international tourist arrivals for the sixth consecutive year. One drawback, however, is that the Canary Islands have lost customers. Spanish tourism reports a record 82.8 million visitors, nearly one million more than in 2017, according to data from the Frontur survey published by the National Statistics Institute (INE). The main markets for tourists arriving in Spain were the United Kingdom, Germany and France. According to Frontur data, the Canary Islands lost 462,000 foreign tourists in 2018 compared to the previous year, when a record number of foreign arrivals were recorded (14.21 million). Transavia will connect Lyon to Casablanca in the summer of 2019

Transavia has made Lyon airport an important growth lever. For the summer of 2019, the city of the gones will be connected to Casablanca for a month by the low cost of the Air France-KLM group. Norwegian abandons the Caribbean and reduces Paris

Lidl-voyages.fr continues its development with the integration of four new TO partners. The FTI group employs 10,000 people worldwide (with its subsidiaries) and has a consolidated turnover for the 2017/18 financial year of €3.6 billion.
