Promoting Tenerife’s amazing weather is one of the promotional drives Tenerife Tourism is currently carrying out in the UK. The island is featured on the most popular weather portal in the country plus ten presentations of Tenerife’s main attractions as a holiday destination are taking place in several British cities, which are expected to attract five hundred travel agents.
The climate campaign in the online weather search engine www.holiday-weather.com runs twice this year (March to June and in September), which attracts two million hits and more than seven million page views each month. It is the UK’s number one website for holiday weather searches in the world’s most popular 400 destinations.
The UK is the largest source market for the Tenerife – over a million and half British tourists visited in 2011, so that the promotion around the country will further enhance the island’s privileged position on the British market.
Presentations to travel agents, which began in February and will run until October, are being staged take in cities like Glasgow, Oxford, Edinburgh and Cambridge. The goal is to improve travel agents’ sales pitch and diversify the areas in the UK which send tourists to Tenerife.
